日本の絵本作家、さいとうしのぶは、1966年生まれ。大阪府堺市に育ち、嵯峨美術短期大学洋画科卒業後、デザイナーとして活動し、インターナショナルアカデミー絵本教室で高畠純の指導を受けた。
1998年に初めて作品を発表。絵本創作のかたわら、手づくり絵本を広める活動もしている。
代表的な受賞歴や肩書きは、2008年、産経児童出版文化賞ニッポン放送賞を受賞。また、高畠純の指導を受けていたインターナショナルアカデミー絵本教室の同窓生であり、「絵本で子どもたちに笑顔を～絵本作家 さいとうしのぶ～」にも出演している。
さいとうしのぶは、多くの作品を発表しており、その中でも有名なのは「よーい よーい よい」と「十二支のかぞえうた」である。「よーい よーい よい」は堺市の風景を描いているため、それを舞台にした作品も多い。

Japanese picture book author Shinobu Saito was born in 1966. Raised in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, after graduating from Saga Art College's Western Painting Department, worked as a designer and received instruction from Jun Takabatake at the International Academy Picture Book Class.
