After that, he began serializing the violent action manga ``Fist of the North Star'' (Weekly Shonen Jump). It was incredibly popular and influenced later Jump manga. The historical drama manga ``Hana no Keiji - Kanata of the Clouds'' (Weekly Shonen Jump), based on the novel by Keiichiro Ryu, was serialized from 1990 to 1993. He is also producing the children's picture book ``Forest Warrior Bonolon''.
