Tatsuro Dekune is a Japanese novelist and essayist. Born in 1944. While running a used bookstore at Hogado near Ueno Station in Tokyo, he also wrote novels and essays. He won the Naoki Prize for ``Tsukudajima Futari Shobo'' and the Kodansha Essay Award for ``Book's Mouth Smells.'' He is also a respondent in Yomiuri Shimbun's "Life Guide" and was awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Art Encouragement Award in 2015.
