長谷川町子は日本初の女性プロ漫画家。代表作に『サザエさん』・『いじわるばあさん』・『エプロンおばさん』など。
漫画家としては、1935年に『少女倶楽部』誌上でデビューし、「天才少女」と題したグラビアも同時に掲載された。1939年には初連載作品となった『ヒィフゥみよチャン』で地位を確立、1940年からは『仲よし手帖』という人気連載を持っていた。
戦後は『サザエさん』で大きな成功を収め、ファッションも話題となり、日本の漫画界に新たな波を起こした。

Machiko Hasegawa was Japan's first professional female manga artist. Her representative works include "Sazae-san," "Ijiwaru Baasan," and "Apron Aunt."
As a manga artist, she debuted in 1935 in "Shoujo Club" magazine, with a gravure titled "Genius Girl" published concurrently. In 1939, she established her reputation with her first serialized work, "Hiifu Miyo-chan," and from 1940, she had a popular serialization called "Nakayoshi Techo."
After the war, she achieved great success with "Sazae-san," and her fashion became a hot topic, creating a new wave in the Japanese manga world.
