猪熊隆之は、気象予報士として山岳専門の会社ヤマテンを設立し、日本初となる山岳専門の気象会社を率いている。また、国立登山研修所の講師・専門調査員であり、中央大学山岳部の監督でもある。
猪熊隆之は新潟県村上市出身で、幼少期から山に憧れていた。中学生の時に富士山を登ったときに強風にあおられ転落し左足に重傷を負い、その後チベットのチョムカンリやエベレストなどに登攀した。しかし、2005年頃から大学時代の古傷の影響で骨髄炎に罹患して登山を続けることが困難になり、高校時代からの15年間でチョモランマの他エベレストの西稜などに登攀した。その後は気象予報士の資格を取得し、2007年にメテオテック・ラボに所属。さらに2011年にヤマテンを設立し代表取締役に就任する。
