He is also a professor emeritus at Seisen Women's University. He is an honorary curator of the Tokyo National Museum.
He has published numerous books, including the ``Secrets of Buddhist Statues'' series and ``Lectures on the History of Japanese Buddhist Statues.'' He has also co-authored and edited many books. His supervised books include ``Unkei Taizen.''
