漫画家、絵本作家、詩人のやなせたかしは、1919年に東京府北豊島郡滝野川町生まれ、高知県香美市香北町で育つ。1940年に東京高等工芸学校を卒業後、三越の宣伝部に就職するが、徴兵のため大日本帝国陸軍に入隊し、戦闘には参加しなかった。しかし漫画への情熱は再燃し、終戦後に高知新聞社で編集者として働き、1947年に上京して夫婦となり、三越でグラフィックデザイナーを務りながら漫画活動を行う。独立後の1953年から専業漫画家となり、「アンパンマン」の原作者として有名になる。この他に作曲家の「ミッシェル・カマ」名義も使用し、童話や詩にも取り組むなど、多面的な才能を発揮した。

**Introduction**
Takashi Yanase, a manga artist, picture book author, and poet, was born in 1919 in Takinogawa-cho, Kita-Toshima District, Tokyo, and grew up in Kahoku-cho, Kami City, Kochi Prefecture. After graduating from the Tokyo High School of Industrial Arts in 1940, he took a job in the advertising department of Mitsukoshi, but was drafted into the Imperial Japanese Army and did not participate in combat. However, his passion for manga was rekindled, and after the end of the war, he worked as an editor at the Kochi Shimbun, and in 1947 they moved to Tokyo, where they became a married couple and began their manga career while working as graphic designers at Mitsukoshi. After becoming independent in 1953, he became a full-time manga artist and became famous as the original author of ``Anpanman.'' In addition to this, he also used the name of composer ``Michel Cama'' and demonstrated his multifaceted talent by working on children's stories and poetry.
