畠山 健二は、日本の小説家、コラムニスト、笑芸作家。東京都目黒区出身で、墨田区本所育ち。早稲田大学人間科学部通信教育課程（eスクール）中退。
畠山さんは、小学校6年時に父親の実家がある墨田区立横川小学校に転校し、日本大学第三中学校、日本大学第三高校卒業。その後、大学在学中に『ラブアタック!』（朝日放送制作・テレビ朝日系列全国ネット）に出演し、知り合った百田尚樹や平田進也とは現在でも親友の関係にある。
漫才台本を書きだすようになり、1986年に「第34回NHK漫才コンクール最優秀賞」を受賞。その後、多くの芸人に演芸台本を提供する。1997年にコラムニストとして週刊誌での連載や、コラム本の出版などを行う。
2008年から「WILLものかき塾」で塾頭として、文章セミナーの講師を務める。2013年に時代小説「本所おけら長屋」（PHP文芸文庫）がシリーズ化され、女性の支持を受けて現在は100万部を超えるベストセラーとなっている。

Kenji Hatakeyama is a Japanese novelist, columnist, and comedy writer. Born in Meguro Ward, Tokyo, and raised in Honjo, Sumida Ward. Dropped out of Waseda University's Faculty of Human Sciences correspondence course (e-school).
Mr. Hatakeyama transferred to Sumida Ward Yokogawa Elementary School, where his father lived, when he was in the sixth grade of elementary school, and graduated from Nihon University Daisan Junior High School and Nihon University Daisan High School. Later, while attending university, he appeared on ``Love Attack!'' (produced by Asahi Broadcasting and broadcast on TV Asahi's national network) and met Naoki Hyakuta and Shinya Hirata, and he is still close friends to this day.
He began writing manzai scripts, and in 1986 won the Grand Prize at the 34th NHK Manzai Contest. After that, he provided performance scripts to many comedians. In 1997, he became a columnist, writing serial articles in weekly magazines and publishing column books.
