Born in 1971 in Omiya City, Saitama Prefecture (currently Saitama City), graduated from the Graphic Design Department of Joshibi College of Art and Design. After that, he joined Sanrio and worked as a character designer, but he studied under Makoto Kawabata at a vocational school's picture book course out of a desire to create picture books that would be loved through the ages and not influenced by trends. After taking the book to a publisher and taking a year to produce, ``Sora Mame-kun's Bed'' was released in 1997 and was well received. Since then, he has created numerous series of works.
