Taizo Kobayashi (August 7, 1962 - November 23, 2020) is a Japanese novelist, science fiction writer, horror writer, and mystery writer. Born in Kyoto Prefecture, after graduating from Osaka University's Faculty of Engineering Science, he worked as a developer at Sanyo Electric New Materials Research Laboratory. He is a member of the Japan Mystery Writers Association and the Space Writers Club, and served on the selection committee for the Japan SF Newcomer Award for two years from 2006 to 2007.
