Takashi Okumura is a Japanese sociologist. Professor, Department of Sociology, Kwansei Gakuin University. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Tokyo, he withdrew from the doctoral course and worked at Chiba University and Rikkyo University. His books include ``The Technique of Being with Others'' and ``Elias: Questions about Violence.'' He has also published ``Where is Society?: Sociology of Origins'' and ``Sociology of Beginnings: Lessons for Continuing to Question.''
