Hideo Takagi was a bureaucrat in the Taiwan Governor-General's Office who was active from the Taisho era to the early Showa period. He served as the mayor of Pingtung City. Born in Ehime Prefecture as the eldest son of Yukimasa Takagi, he graduated from Matsuyama Junior High School (currently Matsuyama Higashi High School) in 1914 and entered the Taipei Bureau the following year. After that, he worked for the Nantou Agency and the Taiwan Governor-General's Office, and from 1937 he was active as Pingtung City Yun. After retiring from the military, he entered the private sector and became involved with Taiwan Takushoku and Minami Nihon Kagaku Kogyo.
