He lost his father in the war when he was young and was raised by his grandparents. Infatuated with Tatsuo Hori, he aimed to pursue pure literature and studied under Akutagawa Prize-winning author Yukei Tada.
He is a best-selling author who writes dynamic and powerful texts (in some cases, such as shooting in outer space, he deliberately ignores scientific common sense), and is popular with a wide range of people, from adults to students. Unusually for modern novels, there are many swordplay scenes that use Japanese swords, and his powerful writing suggests that he himself has experience in swordsmanship and kendo.
