**「歴史を新たに読み解く」という力を持った小説家**
安部 龍太郎は、日本の小説家。日本文芸家協会と日本ペンクラブの会員です。福岡県八女市で生まれ、国立久留米工業高等専門学校を卒業しました。太宰治や坂口安吾などの作品を学生時代から読んでおり、高専時代にラグビーが大けがを負い休学したときに坂口の「堕落論」を読んで作家になることを志すようになったそうです。
彼は29歳で上京して東京都大田区役所の矢口出張所で勤めました。その後下丸子図書館で「図書館報」の編集をしました。それまで同人誌などに小説を書いていた彼ですが、妻子がいて29歳のときに公務員を退職して2年間限定で小説の執筆に専念した。その間に歴史小説で初めて最終選考に残ったためさらに1年延長して創作に没頭しました。1988年に短編「師直の恋」（『小説新潮』）で文壇にデビューしまして、その後週刊誌（『週刊新潮』）の連載が好評を得て予定を越えて延長を重ねました。この連載をもとに1990年に「血の日本史」（「日本史 血の年表」改題）が、単行本のデビュー作となりました。これをきっかけに「隆慶一郎が最後に会いたがった男」という逸話が生まれました。

Ryutaro Abe is a Japanese novelist. He is a member of the Japan Literary Artists Association and the Japan Pen Club. Born in Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture, graduated from Kurume National College of Technology. He has been reading the works of Osamu Dazai and Ango Sakaguchi since he was a student, and when he took a leave of absence due to a serious rugby injury during his time at a technical college, he read Sakaguchi's ``The Depravity Theory'' and became interested in becoming a writer.
He moved to Tokyo at the age of 29 and worked at the Yaguchi Branch of the Ota Ward Office in Tokyo. After that, I edited the ``Library Bulletin'' at Shimomaruko Library. Although he was nominated for the Newcomer's Award early on, he often failed to win the award.At the age of 46, he set up a workshop in Kyoto and studied tea ceremony and ink painting. In 2013, he won the Naoki Prize for his work ``Tohaku,'' which depicts himself as Tohaku Hasegawa.
