Yoko Imoto (born 1944) is a Japanese picture book author and illustrator. Born in Shizen-cho, Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture. After graduating from the oil painting department at Kanazawa College of Art, he worked as an elementary school teacher before entering the world of picture books, leaving behind more than 400 works.
His representative works include ``Moshi Moshi Okaasan'' and ``Himawari-san,'' who were active as children's story writers. Using Imoto's unique technique of coloring torn pieces of Japanese paper, he depicts people, animals, and plants with warm expressions. I also work on illustrating picture books such as Japanese folk tales and world masterpieces.
