Kimiko Aman is a Japanese children's literature author. Born in Manchuria, he was sickly from childhood, but began reading folk tales and books and creating imaginary worlds. Some works are inspired by that experience. After moving to Osaka and graduating from Osaka Prefectural Toyonaka Girls' High School, she married at the age of 19 because of her mother dying of breast cancer, and then moved to Tokyo.
