さいとうしのぶ / Shinobu Saito

**「子どもを笑顔にした、まなびたい絵本の力士」**
日本の絵本作家。大阪府堺市出身。嵯峨美術短期大学洋画科卒業。インテリアデザイナーを経て、インターナショナルアカデミー絵本教室で高畠純に師事。
1998年にデビュー作の「よーいよーいよい」を刊行。手づくり絵本創作にも取り組み、「あっちゃんあがつく」と「しりとりしましょ！ たべものあいうえお」などの作品を発表。2008年、子ども向けの行事と遊びについての絵本で産経児童出版文化賞ニッポン放送賞を受賞。
代表作には、「よーいよーいよい」、「きしわだのだんじりまつり」、「十二支のかぞえうた」などがある。最近では、「おはなしぴょうしつ」や「ひみつのてがみじゃ！」などの作品を発表している。

Japanese picture book author. Born in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. Graduated from Saga Art Junior College, Department of Western Painting. After working as an interior designer, studied under Jun Takabatake at the International Academy Picture Book School.
In 1998, he published his debut work "Yoiyoiyoi". He has also worked on creating handmade picture books, publishing works such as ``Acchan Agatsuku'' and ``Shiritorishimasho! Food Aiueo''. In 2008, he won the Sankei Children's Publishing Culture Award Nippon Broadcasting Award for his picture book about events and play for children.
Representative works include ``Yoi yo ii yoi'', ``Kishiwada no Danjiri Festival'', and ``Twelve Chinese Zodiac Songs''. Recently, he has released works such as ``Ohanashi Pyoshitsu'' and ``Himi no Tegamija!''.
