赤松利市は、日本の小説家。生まれたのは香川県で、父親は植物病理学者として知られている。アメリカで2年間過ごした帰国子女だった。大学卒業後、大手消費者金融会社に入社するが、激務から燃え尽き症候群に襲われ30歳のとき退社し、ゴルフ場の芝生管理や起業を経験する。バブル景気末期には事業は成功していたが、精神病で娘とともに困難な生活を送り、2011年の東日本大震災後の5年間は東北で土木作業員や除染作業員として働いた。その後も、所持金わずか5000円という貧困状態まで陥ったが漫画喫茶に通いながら作品を書き上げた。「藻屑蟹」で2018年に第1回大藪春彦新人賞を受賞し、以降「鯖」「らんちう」「犬」など多数の小説を発表している。

Toshiichi Akamatsu is a Japanese novelist. Born in Kagawa Prefecture, his father is known as a plant pathologist. She was a returnee who had spent two years in America. After graduating from university, he joined a major consumer finance company, but due to intense work, he suffered from burnout and left the company at the age of 30, gaining experience managing lawns at golf courses and starting his own business. Although his business was successful at the end of the bubble economy, he and his daughter had a difficult life due to mental illness, and for five years after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, he worked as a civil engineering worker and decontamination worker in Tohoku. After that, he fell into poverty with only 5,000 yen, but he continued to write his works while attending manga cafes. He won the first Haruhiko Oyabu Newcomer Award in 2018 for ``Mokuzu Kani,'' and has since published numerous novels including ``Saba,'' ``Ranch,'' and ``Inu.''
