俳人。京都府生まれ。1984年関戸靖子に師事し、1988年に「泉」入会し綾部仁喜に師事。1991年に「泉」新人賞を受賞し、1994年に同賞を受賞した。また、2004年より早稲田大学大学院教育学研究科修士課程において近世俳文学を研究し、2012年に「汀」創刊主宰となった。俳人協会幹事、日本文藝家協会会員、俳文学会会員であり、武蔵野大学客員教授、朝日新聞京都俳壇選者も務めた。

Haiku poet. Born in Kyoto Prefecture. Studied under Yasuko Sekido in 1984, joined Izumi in 1988 and studied under Hitoshi Ayabe. He won the Izumi Newcomer Award in 1991, and the same award in 1994. Additionally, since 2004, he has been studying early modern haiku literature in the master's program at Waseda University's Graduate School of Education, and in 2012 he became the founding director of ``Tai''. He is a secretary of the Haiku Poetry Association, a member of the Japan Writers' Association, and a member of the Haiku Literature Society. He also served as a visiting professor at Musashino University and as a selector for the Asahi Shimbun Kyoto Haiku Circle.
