**Introduction**
She was the first woman in Japan to work on a film. Raised in Fukagawa, Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Komatsugawa High School and the Department of Drama, Faculty of Letters, Waseda University. After that, she gained experience as a freelance writer and entered the production of TV programs. In 1993, she branched out into film production, starting with ``She's Rain.'' Her main works include ``Yukie'' (1998), ``Origami'' (2001), and ``Leonie'' (2010), which depict elderly women with Alzheimer's disease and caregiving issues.
