A nonfiction writer and critic, he has published numerous works on aviation accidents, medical accidents, disasters, and war. Originally from NHK, graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo in 1960. Afterwards, he worked in the social affairs department, and in 1971, his reportage ``Mach's Horror'' won the 3rd Soichi Oya Nonfiction Prize.
