川端康成 / Yasunari Kawabata
Yasunari Kawabata (June 14, 1899 – April 16, 1972) was a Japanese novelist and literary critic. He was a member of the Japan Art Academy, a Person of Cultural Merit, and a recipient of the Order of Culture. In 1968, he became the first Japanese person to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature.
He is known for his novels and poetry collections. His representative works include "The Izu Dancer," "The Scarlet Gang of Asakusa," "Lyric," "Of Birds and Beasts," "Snow Country," "A Thousand Cranes," "Sound of the Mountain," and "House of the Sleeping Beauties."
