日本の小説家、推理作家。本多孝好は1971年に東京都で生まれた。慶應義塾大学法学部を卒業した後、小説家としてのキャリアをスタートさせた。
彼は子供時代から読書が好きだったと語っており、その影響を受けて小説家に志すようになった。当初は弁護士になることを目指していたが、大学4年生の時、同じ学部の金城一紀に卒業文集に入れる小説の執筆を依頼されたことがきっかけとなり、小説家への道を歩み始めた。
1994年に「眠りの海」で第16回小説推理新人賞を受賞し、これがきっかけとなってデビュー作として短編集『MISSING』が発売され、このミステリーがすごい! 2000年版でトップ10に入り、脚光を浴びた。
本多孝好は物語をつくるという根底にある死への恐怖心とそれに対する覚悟の作り方があり、「生と死」を主題とした作品が中心となっていた。しかし、新しいことに挑戦しようと思い立ち、新たに走る場所を探し始め、時代や社会に焦点をあてて書いた『正義のミカタ I'm a loser』を執筆。また、『MOMENT』シリーズの姉妹作として『WILL』を執筆。自分（現実世界）と同じ時間を過ごしてほしいとの想いから、7年後の物語として書き上がることとなった。
2018年7月期のドラマ『dele』（テレビ朝日）では、原案と脚本を担当した。その他の作品は多数あり、彼の才能が認められていることは明らかである。

Japanese novelist and mystery writer. Takayoshi Honda was born in Tokyo in 1971. After graduating from Keio University's Faculty of Law, he began his career as a novelist.
He said that he loved reading since he was a child, which influenced him to aspire to become a novelist. Initially, he aimed to become a lawyer, but when he was in his fourth year at university, he was asked by Kazunori Kinjo, a fellow student in his department, to write a novel to include in his graduation anthology, which led him to pursue a career as a novelist.
In 1994, he won the 16th Novel Mystery Newcomer Award for ``Sleeping Sea'', which led to the release of his debut short story collection ``MISSING'', which entered the top 10 in the 2000 edition of ``This Mystery Is Amazing!'' and gained attention.
Takayoshi Honda's works centered around the theme of ``life and death,'' as he had an underlying fear of death and a way of preparing himself for it through the creation of stories.
