Takashi Noguchi was born in 1944 and dropped out of the Department of Geography, Faculty of Letters, Ritsumeikan University. After working in various occupations, he began writing plays and radio drama scripts through theater and rakugo. Afterwards, he turned to historical novels, and is best known for his Shamo Samurai series.
