小説家としてデビューする前は、博報堂に勤務していたが、1997年に同社を退職し、専業作家となった。2001年から2005年まで、日本推理作家協会の理事長を務めた。また、オフィスにはギターがいくつも置かれているという。
逢坂剛は、「屠殺者よグラナダに死ね」により1980年に第19回オール讀物推理小説新人賞を受賞しデビュー。以降、数多くの作品を発表し、2014年には第17回日本ミステリー文学大賞を受賞。

Tsuyoshi Osaka is a Japanese novelist and mystery writer. Born in 1943. His real name is Hiromasa Naka. Born in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo. Her father is Kazuya Naka, an illustrator.
