泉房穂は、日本の政治家、弁護士、社会福祉士、コメンテーター、タレント。参議院議員（1期）や明石市長（3期）、衆議院議員（1期）などを歴任している。
政治家になることを決意したのは、幼少期に経験した「貧困と差別」の2つの理不尽に対する気持ちからだった。東京大学に現役合格し、NHKに入社して障壁問題について報道した後、テレビ朝日で制作・取材を担当した。その後は弁護士となり、明石市や神戸市で事務所を開設していた。
2003年、衆議院議員に初当選。2005年の再選では落選したが、その後は弁護士としての業務を行っていた。2010年に社会福祉士の資格を取得し、2011年には明石市長となった。

Fusaho Izumi is a Japanese politician, lawyer, social worker, commentator, and TV personality. He has served as a member of the House of Councilors (1st term), Mayor of Akashi (3rd term), and House of Representatives (1st term).
He decided to become a politician because of his feelings about the two unreasonable things he experienced in his childhood: poverty and discrimination. After being admitted to the University of Tokyo and joining NHK to report on barrier issues, he was in charge of production and reporting for TV Asahi. Afterwards, he became a lawyer and opened offices in Akashi City and Kobe City.
In 2003, he was first elected to the House of Representatives. Although he lost re-election in 2005, he continued to practice as a lawyer. In 2010, he obtained the qualification of a social worker, and in 2011 he became the mayor of Akashi.
