城平京は、日本の小説家・推理作家・漫画原作者。奈良県出身の大阪市立大学卒業生。1997年に短編「飢えた天使」を公募アンソロジーに掲載し、1998年に第8回鮎川哲也賞最終候補作『名探偵に薔薇を』を創元推理文庫より刊行し本格的に小説家としてデビュー。その後、漫画「スパイラル 〜推理の絆〜」（『月刊少年ガンガン』連載）の原作を手がけ、大ヒットシリーズとなる。2012年に「虚構推理 鋼人七瀬」で第12回本格ミステリ大賞小説部門受賞。

Joheikyo is a Japanese novelist, mystery writer, and original manga author. A graduate of Osaka City University from Nara Prefecture. In 1997, he published his short story ``Hungry Angel'' in a public anthology, and in 1998, he made his full-fledged debut as a novelist with the publication of ``A Rose for the Great Detective'', a finalist for the 8th Ayukawa Tetsuya Prize, from Sogen Suiri Bunko. After that, he wrote the original work for the manga ``Spiral ~The Bonds of Mystery~'' (serialized in ``Monthly Shonen Gangan''), which became a huge hit series. In 2012, he won the 12th Honkaku Mystery Award in the novel category for ``Fictional Mystery Steelman Nanase''.
