工藤勇一は、日本の教育者。横浜創英中学・高等学校元校長。教育再生実行会議委員や経済産業省「EdTech」委員などの公職や、文部科学省職員等の有志による「教育・学びの未来を創造する教育長・校長プラットフォーム」の発起人などを務めた。現在は内閣府規制改革推進会議専門員や群馬県非認知教育専門家委員会委員などの公職の他、東明館中学校・高等学校教育アドバイザー等を務めている。
山形県鶴岡市生まれ。東京理科大学理学部応用数学科卒業後、1984年より山形県で数学の中学教諭を5年務めた。その後東京都の教員採用試験を受け直し、1989年に台東区の中学校に赴任した。このあと東京都や目黒区教育委員会、新宿区教育委員会教育指導課長などを歴任。2014年、千代田区立麹町中学校の校長に就任し、「生徒の自律（主体性）を促す学校改革」を掲げ、宿題や定期テストを廃止したり、固定担任制を見直したりなど、従来の学校慣行を再検証する取り組みを行った。このような施策について工藤は、「学習者の実態に応じた学びの機会を確保するため」と説明している。また、これらの改革は教育関係者やメディアから注目を集めた。2020年には横浜創英中学・高等学校の校長となり、従来の管理的な学校運営から生徒中心の学校改革に取り組んだ。

Yuichi Kudo is a Japanese educator. Former principal of Yokohama Soei Junior and Senior High School. He has held public positions such as a member of the Education Revitalization Executive Committee and a member of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's ``EdTech'' committee, and served as the founder of the ``Platform for Superintendents and Principals to Create the Future of Education and Learning,'' which is a group of volunteers including employees of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Born in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. After graduating from the Department of Applied Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Tokyo University of Science, from 1984 he worked as a junior high school mathematics teacher in Yamagata Prefecture for five years. After that, he re-sat the Tokyo teacher employment exam and was assigned to a junior high school in Taito Ward in 1989. After this, he held positions including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Meguro Ward Board of Education, and Shinjuku Ward Board of Education's Education Guidance Division Director. In 2014, he became the principal of Kojimachi Junior High School in Chiyoda Ward, and under the banner of ``school reforms that encourage student autonomy,'' he worked to reexamine traditional school practices, such as abolishing homework and regular tests and reviewing the fixed homeroom teacher system. Kudo explains that these measures are ``to ensure learning opportunities that are tailored to each learner's actual situation.'' These reforms also attracted attention from educators and the media. In 2020, he became the principal of Yokohama Soei Junior and Senior High School and worked on student-centered school reform from the traditional administrative school management.
