In his published works, Masato Soda has primarily created shonen manga, producing representative works such as "Megumi no Daigo" and "Capeta." These works have been adapted into anime and films, earning him a large following.
He debuted as a manga artist in 1990, after gaining experience as an assistant. His works have been published by three major publishing houses: Kodansha, Akita Shoten, and Shogakukan. In 2013, with the completion of "Capeta," he began co-authoring manga with Kuro Tomiyama, who became his partner in manga production.
His representative work, "Megumi no Daigo," received the 42nd Shogakukan Manga Award in 1997, and "Capeta" also won the 29th Kodansha Manga Award in 2005. Furthermore, "Subaru" was adapted into a film in 2009.
His achievements as a writer include influencing shonen manga and having numerous works adapted into anime and films. Among these, "Megumi no Daigo" was also animated for the Nippon Television Network.
