Graduated from the Department of Humanities, Faculty of Liberal Arts, International Christian University. After leaving the University of Tokyo Graduate School after completing his doctoral program, he worked as a full-time lecturer at Toho University's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chuo University's Faculty of Law. Through his current activities at the University of Tokyo, he focuses on the theme of ``the formation and representation of the image of the 'lower middle class' in British culture.'' In particular, he is known for his work on the image of public schools.
