The Nekoben series began in 2009, and won the 3rd TBS/Kodansha Drama Original Award in 2011. Also, in 2012, he made his debut as a novelist. The Nekoben series has sold over 500,000 copies in total, and the "Azukariya-san" series has sold over 400,000 copies.
