医学博士として知られる藤野博さんは、国立大学歯学部の創設に尽力した。1932年に旧制山口高等学校を卒業し、九州帝国大学医学部に入学。口腔外科医を目指して第一外科学教室から歯科学口腔外科学教室に移り、助手、講師、助教授などを経て1954年に教授に就任した。
1967年には初代歯学部長および初代歯学部附属病院長として国立大学第6校目の歯学部を開設。また、その後は公立学校共済組合九州中央病院病院長や精華女子短期大学学長などを歴任した。1974年に九州大学を定年退職し、2005年11月24日に呼吸不全のため死去。

Hiroshi Fujino, known as a doctor of medicine, was instrumental in founding the national university's dental school. Graduated from the old Yamaguchi High School in 1932 and entered Kyushu Imperial University School of Medicine. Aiming to become an oral surgeon, he moved from the First Department of Surgery to the Department of Oral Surgery, and after working as an assistant, lecturer, and assistant professor, he became a professor in 1954.
In 1967, as the first dean of the School of Dentistry and the first director of the School of Dentistry Hospital, he opened the sixth school of dentistry at a national university. After that, he also served as director of Kyushu Chuo Hospital of the Public School Mutual Aid Association and president of Seika Women's Junior College. He retired from Kyushu University in 1974 and died of respiratory failure on November 24, 2005.
