Yasushi Machida is a Japanese novelist and former musician. Professor at Musashino University Faculty of Letters. His former stage name was Machida Machizou. Born in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. He made his debut as a singer in 1981 as a vocalist for the band "INU", and since then has appeared in many works as an actor and is also active as a writer. In terms of novels, he made his debut with his first novel, ``Kussun Daikoku,'' which depicts a clumsy man with a strong sense of strangeness in a unique writing style, and won the 123rd Akutagawa Prize. He has also written the original works for poetry collections and movies. Representative works include ``Punk Samurai, Killed'' and ``Confession.''
