After graduating from Osaka Municipal Ogimachi Commercial School, he worked at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mizushima Aircraft and Kurashiki Rayon, while also engaging in local political activities such as running for the Kurashiki City Council. He served two terms as a member of the House of Representatives for the Komeito party from Kochi Prefecture's at-large district, and two terms as a member of the House of Councillors. Subsequently, he held positions as a member of the Central Control Committee and the Accounting Audit Committee. He passed away on March 8, 1996, and the following day he was posthumously awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, Second Class.
