Akimitsu Takagi is a master of mystery novels and one of the ``Five Postwar Men of Detective Novels.'' After graduating from the Department of Metallurgy, Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto Imperial University, he worked for Nakajima Aircraft, but lost his job at the end of the Pacific War. In 1947, at the advice of a phrenologist, he aspired to become a novelist, and with the publication of his full-length novel ``Tattoo Murder Case,'' he made his debut as a mystery writer. Afterwards, he left behind masterpieces such as ``The Noh Mask Murder Case'' and ``Why Are Dolls Killed?'' and established the format of ``bed detective.'' He was well versed in fortune-telling and fortune-telling, and many of his works utilize this knowledge.
