**Japanese literature scholar who figured out how to express The Tale of Genji**
Kazuomi Ikeda was born in Shinjuku, Tokyo in 1950. After studying at Waseda University and the University of Tokyo, he became professor emeritus at Chuo University. His specialty is the study of ``The Tale of Genji'' and the study of old colored paper.
**Research activities**
Kazuomi Ikeda wrote the book ``The Expressive Structure and Water Veins of The Tale of Genji'' and received his doctorate from the University of Tokyo in 2002. Ikeda became a professor at Chuo University and wrote ``The Tale of Genji as Read in Aise'' and ``Excavation and Research of Old Handwritten Materials: Zankan Shuroku Chirinuru.'' We also wrote a book together called ``Waka poems you can fall in love with by writing and reading them with a pencil: A collection of ancient and new ancient and modern Japanese poems.''
