**Introduction**
Hiroki Hyodo is a researcher of Japanese medieval literature and entertainment, and professor emeritus at Gakushuin University. After graduating from the Department of Japanese Literature in the Faculty of Letters at Kyoto University, he withdrew from the Graduate School of Japanese Literature at the University of Tokyo after completing his credits and worked as a professor at Saitama University and Seijo University before becoming a professor at Gakushuin University. My research aims to interpret Japanese medieval literature from a new perspective by focusing on the Tale of the Heike and discussing the role of voice in literature, centering on the concept of "voice." His books include ``The History and Performing Arts of the Tale of the Heike'' and ``Japan as a Nation-State of ,'' and he also served on the selection committee for the Higuchi Ichiyo Memorial Yamanashi Literary Award in the research and criticism category.
