Akihiko Akamatsu (born January 8, 1953) is an Indian literary scholar. Professor emeritus at Kyoto University.
After graduating from the History of Indian Philosophy major and obtaining his Ph.D., he continues to contribute to cultural exchange between Japan and the world as a classical literature and philosopher. His books include ``The Kingdom of Loulan: 4000 Years on the Shores of Lake Lop Nor'' and ``Bhagavad Gita: Can God Understand Human Suffering?''.
