Koichi Hasegawa is a Japanese sociologist. Known for his environmental sociology and social movement theory, he is president of Morioka University and Morioka University Junior College. He is also a professor emeritus at Tohoku University and a professor emeritus at Shokei Gakuin University.
Professor Hasegawa was born in Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Tokyo in 1977, he withdrew from the same graduate school's Graduate School of Sociology in 1983 after completing his doctoral course.
