**"Looking at the history of political thought from the Meiji era to the present"**
Takeshi Hara is a Japanese political scientist and professor emeritus at Meiji Gakuin University and visiting professor at the Open University of Japan. My specialty is the history of Japanese political thought, and I am conducting research on the modern emperor, the imperial family, and modern Shintoism. He also serves as a director of the Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association and a director of the Takachiho Amaterasu Railway Research Institute.
His books include ``Direct Appeal and Royal Authority'' and ````Private Capital'' Osaka vs. ``Imperial Capital'' Tokyo''. He also serves as a member of the Kodansha Honda Yasuharu Nonfiction Prize selection committee.
