近世文学研究者の中込重明は、落語と講談を専門としていた。博士（文学）号を持っており、日本文学史を通じて広く研究を行った。法政大学の非常勤講師や国際日本文化研究センターの共同研究員も務めていたが、2003年に脳腫瘍が見つかり入院生活となる。2004年3月、病床で学位論文を提出して博士号を取得するも同年4月に逝去した。

He holds a doctorate in literature and has conducted extensive research throughout the history of Japanese literature. He was also a part-time lecturer at Hosei University and a joint researcher at the International Research Center for Japanese Studies, but in 2003 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was hospitalized. In March 2004, he submitted his dissertation and received his doctoral degree from his hospital bed, but passed away in April of the same year.
